  5. Get on social media! Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are a great way to increase exposure. Especially with the added bonus of hashtags that can include your target locations, if it makes sense for that post.

  6. Run Google Ads. Google Ads don’t have a minimum budget to start, so why not start today? You can create highly targeted ads that can show up in Google search results and across thousands of websites. 7. Running ads on social media. Social media platforms allow you to run highly targeted ads based on a visitors location, interests, & previous activity on your website. You can also run ads to gain more likes on your page too!

  8. Make sure your site is mobile-friendly, isn’t producing any 404 errors, & is secure using HTTPS. These are just some of the many factors Google looks at when considering how high to rank a website on Google Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs).

  9. Distribute posts from Google My Business daily. The more posts you put out the more opportunities you’ll have to reach a new audience. You can also review post metrics to find out which posts are successful & which ones might need some work.

  10. Guest blog on popular sites in your target area. Would it be great if you were listed in an article about the Top 10 Places to Visit in NYC? If so, then reach out to those sites and find out if they’re doing any future articles that your business might be the perfect fit for!

Top ways to increase website conversion rate

  1. Brag a little! Have you worked with any clients who’d be proud to be mentioned on your site? Maybe you belong to some prestigious organizations within your field? Display this information high on the page so visitors are most likely to see it. This will help make them more likely to either purchase your product or seek out your services.

  2. Offer what your competition doesn’t. Do you offer free shipping or a money back guarantee? Make sure highlights like these are listed prominently on the website, in title tags, and on product/service pages.

  3. Add a call-to-action above the fold on all priority product & service pages. A call-to-action is usually a button or linked text directing a website visitor to perform an action such as, “Call to learn more!” Calls-to-action lead visitors towards a specific destination, whether that’s filling out a form, making a call, or purchasing a product.

  4. Add related products/services to the bottom of or in the sidebar of priority pages. These should be sorted by category which will increase the likelihood of those products/services being relevant to and clicked on by your visitors.

  5. Add a Google Reviews widget to the site to display your awesome 5-star reviews! The widget stays up-to-date, continuously showing visitors how well the business is doing! The widget can be placed in the footer or the sidebar of the site which will ensure it’s displayed on every page of the website.

  6. Add contact info in the header & footer of the site. Don’t have a dedicated Contact Us page? Get one! It makes contacting your business easier for website visitors and the contact page link can also be seen in Google Search Results when Schema is implemented reducing the number of clicks it’ll take a visitor to get there.

  7. Reduce the number of clicks it takes for a visitor to reach priority pages. You’ll want to make it as easy as possible for conversions to happen on the site by reducing clicks. Every single page across the site should be reachable by no more than 3-5 clicks. Priority pages such a product, service, and contact pages should be reachable by only one click.

  8. Link all contact info. All phone numbers and email addresses should be clickable, opening the phone app or email box when clicked on. All addresses should open to your Google My Business Listing, which if you don’t have one, get one! It’s 100% free and easy to set up, so why wouldn’t you have one?

  9. Give them your elevator pitch as soon as they land on the page. It should be as clear as possible stating what your business is, what you do, and what you want website visitors to do when they land on the site. Add your elevator pitch above the fold on the homepage. It should only be a couple of sentences. Add a call-to-action button underneath it to increase the likelihood of that visitor performing the desired action.

  10. Make sure your website is user-friendly. Ensure it’s free of all technical issues, such as 404 errors and broken links. Also, make sure the site speed is at least fair when running a Google Pagespeed test. Go through the site and ask yourself, is it easy for a conversion to take place, does the website feel easy to navigate through, and of course is it mobile-friendly? These are considerations your website visitors are having, if you have them first you’ll beat them to the punch!

*Bonus: Implement live chat on the site. A live chat bot can either connect to a real person or be programmed with automated responses. Since we want to make it as easy as possible for website visitors to perform an action, if visitors are interested enough to ask a question it’s likely they’re considering purchasing products or services from your business. Make their experience as pain-free as possible by making it easy for their questions to be answered.

How to increase domain authority?

Get high quality backlinks from reputable sites.

You’ll want to get reputable websites to link back to your site. One way to do this is to get that website to write an article about your business and then link to your site from the article. You can also write an article. Not necessarily about your business alone, but you can also write an article that answers questions people are asking within your niche.

The types of websites that Google considers reputable are ones that end in .edu & .gov.

Other high quality links will come from popular news publications, such as the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal.

These websites have proven to Google that they’re reputable, so having them link to your site tells Google your website is probably reputable too.

It can seem daunting at first, but once you find top news publications whose readers would legitimately enjoy reading an article you’ve written/about your business, it’s time to reach out to them directly. That’s right, good old-fashioned email-writing. It’d help if the article is already written, then send it out and get it posted to a site that has a high domain authority.

How do keywords work for SEO?

Keywords are words websites should include in their websites to make it easier for their websites to rank higher on Google for those words. These words should be chosen based off of Google user Search Terms.

Search Terms are the words people type into Google when they’re performing a search.

Keywords should be added to text across a site as well as in title tags, meta descriptions, and in h1 tags. This helps tell Google what your website and what specific pages are all about. The more relevant keywords you add to your website naturally, so not in a spammy way, the more you’re telling Google about your business which will result in improved rankings.

To learn more about how Google search works, check out How Search Works from Google. They tell us clearly that they rank websites based on “the most relevant, useful results”. The way that you prove to Google that your website is the most relevant and the most useful is by actually being both.

Don’t add keywords just for the sake of adding them. Have the kind of website that users find interesting and helpful. Ask and answer questions your target website visitors are asking. Include text, infographics, images, and videos which will enhance the user experience by offering more ways to digest information. All of this gets taken into consideration by Google every single time someone performs a Google search.

Make sure your website offers the most helpful and interesting information, blowing your competition out of the water!

How to choose the best keywords for SEO?

  1. Use the Google search box. Type in relevant terms surrounding your business and see what comes up in the search box before pressing enter. The results that are shown are the most searched for terms around those subjects. Finding out what those terms are will help you find high-quality, highly-search for keywords that are great for SEO & blog writing.

  2. Review the “People Also Ask” section in Google. Once you’ve found some relevant search terms by using the Google search box, check out the results. The People Also Ask section will show you the most highly searched for questions surrounding a subject. Writing blogs around these subjects that are legitimately helpful and relevant to website users is a great way to increase rankings.

  3. Explore the “Searches related to” section on Google. You’ll find this section at the bottom of the page after completing a Google search. The words found here are great to use throughout a site or blog article. They can also be used as blog article topics depending on the results. These are also highly searched for terms which is why they’re being displayed in this section.

  4. Use Google Ads Keyword Planner, after you’ve performed the above four-steps. Now that you have your keywords all picked out, put ’em to the test! Run them through Google Ads Keyword Planner and find out which ones are worth targeting and which ones aren’t.

  5. Target your customers in Google Keyword Planner. Make sure the keyword planner is set to your target destination when researching keywords to use. You can also filter the results by Average Monthly Searches & Competition. You’ll want to target the most relevant keywords for your business, using a combination of low, medium, and high competition keywords. Keep in mind the higher the level of competition the longer it’ll take to rank for that keyword, which is why it’s better to use a mix of competition levels when deciding which keywords to use.
*Bonus: Use Google Search Console. Click on Performance and then scroll down to Queries. These are the search terms that are triggering your website to come up in Google Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). The keywords found here should be peppered in throughout the site in a natural way to increase your chances of ranking for them higher and higher over time.
